Affiliate Members - They're paid to trick you.

If you've ever landed on the homepage of a sex dating site, you may have noticed the term 'Affiliates'. An affiliate is an individual or company that is joined, connected or a part of another company or group. Sex dating sites employ affiliates to grow their businesses. Called 'affiliate members' these individuals pose as ordinary members on the sex dating site, and may have one or more profiles. They earn money by encouraging members and specifically new non subscribed members to sign up. Typically when a guy registers on a sex dating site, affiliates will send messages to him. The guy will be be alerted by email that a member has contacted them, emails are usually in html format and show a preview of the profile, and photo of the member contacting them. An affiliate can earn as much as 75% of the joining fee for every member who subscribes after responding to them. By employing affiliates, sex dating sites are able to trick people into thinking they have been contacted by a real member, because affiliates can write believable messages and can respond to messages they are sent. The fact is that if these sites had a large number of 'real members' (women) there would be no need to employ affiliates. Some web sites use a different method of tricking men into subscribing, they use specially written software built into their web sites which can automatically 'generate' messages, and send them to members. see 'Generated Messages'
