Shared Content

Over the last few years a number of dating software companies have come to the fore, promoting self build dating sites. Many of the lack lustre and highly polished sex dating and niche relationship sites, are based on a service which provides a package of dating software in a number of standard or user configurable formats. Their sales spin talks about 'ready to go dating sites', pre-loaded with members from their 'other' member websites. What this means is they 'share' content, photos, profiles etc with other dating web sites within their worldwide network. They provide the software, member database, back end and technical support, while the partner runs the site, possibly working from home on a part or full time basis. Companies offering this type of service promise high profits of up to £10000 per month. The web site takings are split between the two parties 25% to 75% or something similar. By providing ready made member databases from a mixed bag of dating site genres, any real members in the database are not likely to be credible or current. They just provide the basis for site partners to build onto, thus a number of such sites exist today using the methods described in these pages.

Fraud & Malware

Sex dating sites are now more than ever being targeted by international fraudsters in order to make money. The fraudsters sometimes from the Far East, Nigeria, Russia etc. sign up for the minimum membership to a site and then send out lots of messages. They typically use 'hard luck' stories to gain the sympathy of the reader, or perhaps express an interest in a relationship. Their aim is to seduce the reader into sending money. These messages can usually be spotted because the standard of English is quite poor. Many dating websites try to filter these messages out, but it not always possible to catch all of them.
